Fireplace Bellows - Handcrafted @ Beavers Den
Fireplace Bellows, handcrafted at Beavers Den, a beautiful functional accessory for anyone's fireplace, perfect for a braai at home, when camping, or as a gift. A Fire Bellow is an essential item, which every braaier or owner of an open fire should own. Bellows are typically used at fireplaces which burn solid fuel, like timber, lumpwood charcoal or briquettes.
Tired of huffing and puffing down on your knees to tend to your fire? Fire Bellows were used to solve those huffing and puffing issues, for hundreds of years, by providing a superior mechanical replacement way for blowing onto a fire. Designed for easily delivering oxygen into a dying fire. You aim the nozzle at the base of glowing coals, not on the flame itself, lightly pumping the bellow to supply additional air flow, (without blowing out any existing flames) to give the coals a hot burning flame.

Traditional fireplace Bellows are made with wooden side panels and protruding handles, flexible expandable leather body that creates an air chamber and a metal blow nozzle. By pulling the handles apart from each other, air is drawn into the chamber and by pushing the handles then together forces the air out through the nozzle and into the fire. The larger the Bellow, the more air you propel per stroke. Solid wood Bellows last for decades with minimal care. Bellows with geniune leather airbag chambers usually outlast the less expensive ones.
Bellows do come in different wood types and finishes, select ones that complement the wood of your fireplace or the wooden interior of the room. Made either from solid wood, or a-grade imported laminated plywood, stained to your prefered color, real leather body bag. Minimal annual maintenance, apply a leather conditioner to keep the leather supple and oil the wood to maintain it. Storing fireplace Bellows away from the direct heat of a fireplace will extend their use.
